 Soul Screamers Book 6

Before I wake.

I died on a Thursday-killed by a monster intent on stealing my soul. The good news? He didn't get it. The bad news? Turns out not even death will get you out of high school... Covering up her own murder was one thing, but faking life is much harder than Kaylee Cavanaugh expected. After weeks spent "recovering," she's back in school, fighting to stay visible to the human world, struggling to fit in with her friends and planning time alone with her new reaper boyfriend. But to earn her keep in the human world, Kaylee must reclaim stolen souls, and when her first assignment brings her face-to-face with an old foe, she knows the game has changed. Her immortal status won't keep her safe. And this time Kaylee isn't just gambling with her own life....

My review.

Firstly I am not going to go into the storyline to  much, just  touch base with  a few little spoilers,   and just my thoughts on why I loved Before I wake.

Rachel Vincent ‘s Before I wake will certainly take you on a roller – coaster ride. It will not only pull at your heart strings, but have you sitting on the edge of your seat. Twists and turns that will have you heart clenching, and a plot that will have you riveted till you have turned the last page.

Her writing is like poetry, smooth flowing and filled with depth.  The emotions are well portrayed, and not will you only be swept along with the story but will have you wanting more.

Before I wake would have to be my favourite in the series. So much happens and Rachel gets the reader ready for more to come in her last and final instalment in the series.

Kaylee Cavanaugh is given a second chance. Maybe she wasn’t alive but she certainly isn’t a reaper. She has to reclaim the souls rather than take them.  She doesn’t have to do the mundane Human things, but chooses to do so. To give herself some normalcy in her new found Immortal life.

The relation ship between Todd and Kaylee progress‘s and grows within this book, we are swept along with the turmoil and moments throughout this read.

Past rivals come back to taunt Kaylee, to test her. This book is one of growth for Kaylee; we see a stronger side, more confident yet also heart breaking moments, where Kaylee is feeling the grunt of what of her life will bring her.

Before I wake‘s plot is certainly set us up for more tension, dangers, and more suspenseful moments in the next book in the series. My favourite of all the series so far, Rachel has filled us with vivid descriptions, outstanding writing, and a plot that will have you riveted from beginning to end. You won’t be able to put this down.

If you an emotional reader this story will certainly pull out all your emotions Be warned! Its Jam packed with pages of  EMOTIONS.. !!!

Moments where you will be sheepishly grinning, the banter, and witty moments, will make you giggle and also moments where you may just need to grap a tissue or three.  The tension alone will have you grasping at your pages, eager to turn the next page but also hesitant to know what is coming. Rachel has thrown many twists and turns  - ones that you certainly won’t see coming.  Just when you think you have worked it out, a spanner in thrown in the works and the story continue with the reader in awe.

We have new mysteries  to solve in Before I wake -  openings in many a things,  a story that will intrigue you and leave areas for more to unravel  in the next instalment.

The plot zings along full throttle , never slowing down until the book is finished, a  riveting gritty suspense and engaging characters to boot. I eagerly look forward the final and last instalment. As sad as it will be, Im sure that Rachel will engage us  in her last l instalment.

Great review! I adore this series and Rachel Vincent. It's like no matter what book she brings out . . . it just filled with awesomeness! So I'm really anxious for the final book . . . don't want the series to end!
